The advanced interface is meant for administrators of PlanetLab, and users who would like to characterize the traffic on a given node without an a priori knowledge of a particular flow. It can also be used to resolve complaints that are ambiguous in nature, e.g. ones that claim that a node has been ``involved in scanning activity'' or that it has been ``executing a DoS attack.'' Characterizing the traffic on the node and explaining why it may have been interpretted as an attack can help reassure users.
